On The Rocks Studios is an upcoming production studio looking to specialise in short dramatic pictures and documentaries. We are filled with young creative minds eager to prove themselves and break into the industry.
On the Rocks Studios is based on the event that happened in my life, that made me the person I am today with a different outlook on life. I had lost my father in 2009 to suicide which had a massive impact on my life. Even though I was only young, it made me a strong individual and didn’t allow it to affect my life or let it get in the way of my ambitions. Due to this, there was only a small number of people in my family that I felt I could trust and rely on, due to this one special person who already left my life.
In 2017, my uncle, one of my father’s and mother’s longest friends, passed away in the same way. This had a massive impact on the way I viewed life and didn’t want another traumatic event to have effect on my life. Since my father had died, he had become an important person in my circle of trust and treated me as his own, and I always knew I could count on him. Even though this was all a harrowing experience, this is also what brought me and my family and the people around me closer together.
In 2018, I decided to create a production company, and wanted to base it on the idea of family, home and strength. My uncle lived in Jersey, which I wanted to corporate into the logo. Jersey was like my second home, so I wanted this to be a key element in the design. He would often visit me and my family in the UK and would always let us know when he was “back on the rock” when he landed back home. This is how the name came about, and also how the icon got designed, with the shape of the island being incorporated into the rock.
Having this company symbolises the idea of family and looking at life with a positive outcome, even if it does mean going through something distressing and traumatic.
This company is to show the strength and courage that people face every day, and how we can all overcome different experiences by looking at our past, dealing with the present and to create our future.
